"Do the Right Thing," listen to Aaron Draplin!
Aaron Draplin of Draplin Design Co. tweeted about the project commanding, "DO THE RIGHT THING, kickstart this one: "Press On," a doc about the letterpress world!"

Draplin's enthusiasm for design is contagious. In addition to supporting us, you may recognize him from his interview with Jim Moran of Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum talking about the Two Rivers Field Notes.

FEATURE: Pressing On Printer Paul Aken of the Platen Press Museum

Read more about Paul Aken here and get up to Zion, IL to visit the Platen Press Museum to see his collection. It's incredible and we can't wait to film there this Summer (with your help!). Paul describes the inspiration for his print, "Printing equipment from the 1800's is the special legacy of letterpress that still survives. George Clymer's Columbian Iron Hand Press invented in Philadelphia in 1813 is the most ornate example that I know of. A Columbian hand press resides at the Platen Press Museum and is still used today for visitors to print a souvenir poster."

Dave Peat: Star of the Stutz Artists Open House

This past weekend we had a Pressing On launch event at the historic Stutz Arts & Business Center in Indianapolis. Hundreds of people experienced letterpress by printing a postcard on our Kelsey and Showcard presses. 82-year old Dave Peat was on hand to man the Showcard and understand why "it's a disease" that is easy to get really into.

Thank you to Starshaped PressRed Flower LetterpressRed Door Press, and Brad Vetter for donating prints to sell with all proceeds benefiting the film. We screened the Kickstarter trailer and got enthusiastic support from the attendees, several gave hugs and got pics with Dave, he is quite the charmer!

We still need your help! Don't forget to share the project! Look for a new video later this week.

Thanks! Erin
